Light and Shadows

Light and Shadows

We often think of light and shadow as opposites, as distinct entities. I don’t see that way, they are handcuffed together from the beginning of time. It creates the false choice of light and dark and within lights and shadows there are often areas that are not quite light nor shadow but a blend that has no name and lives in between both. How we weave between the shadows and light is what creates the depth and beauty of each life. You, like I, are not one thing rather we are everything to a different degrees.

Light and dark are not moral entities; they're not inherently good or evil. Instead, they are tools, much like the paint and canvas used by a painter, the pen and paper used by a writer, or the stone and chisel used by a sculptor. These tools are neutral, their impact depending entirely on the hand that wields them.

It is we who imbue our creations with meaning, who decide whether to use light and dark to illuminate truth or to obscure it, to inspire hope or to instill fear
